Improve Mental and physical health | avoid depression
First step to become mentally strong
Mental And Physical health goes hand in hand. One gets affected automatically the other goes down.
How can we maintain both is what I will be sharing in my blogs.
Little about me:
I am Divi and I m 25 years old, born to a very traditional parent. So I dare not talk about emotions (shhh).
Health Psychology is a discipline,
where we understand how our physical and mental health are associated
As the heading says mental and
physical health goes hand in hand. When one
goes down the other goes down as well.
So, Mental Health...
How to become strong mentally?
Do you have a perfect Barbie doll friend who posts Barbie
princess life in her social media?
Yes that her, who popped in your mind.
Do you kinda not like her? Yeah, I know 😆
We all do this right, it's hard not to. But that sort
of thinking costs us something.
How our bad habits cost us!
Scrolling through’ Facebook and Instagram and we spend 5
seconds on that post. You may think how is that hurting me?
Researchers have found envying over that envying your
friends on social media leads to depression. And this is just one of the ways our
mind can set traps for us.
Have you ever wondered how other person gets all the
luck or complained about your boss?
It can make you feel better at that moment but the dark side is you are eating your mental strength away.
There are three kinds of destructive belief
D Unhealthy beliefs of ourselves. D Unhealthy beliefs of others. D Unhealthy beliefs of the world.
D Unhealthy beliefs of ourselves.
We tend to be sorry for ourselves. It's okay to be sad
when something bad happens. Magnifying your misfortune and feeling self-pity. We
host a pity party and the party lasts forever.
This way of thinking keeps you in the dark, focused on
the pitch blackness around you. Keeps you from finding a solution. Pity party
has to end for you to find the light, the solution.
For instance, take photography. The mountain sky and the sun can fit the frame only if
we view them from a far distance.
The same rule applies for our problems as well, Look at it from a distance, the solution
will also be captured in the frame
D Unhealthy beliefs of others.
We think other people can control us. We live in a free country we have a
choice of what to do and what not to do. There are very few things that you have
to do.
So when you say u have to work late, there is always a choice despite
the consequence. Because health matters. There is always a choice to choose from. We
give away our power to someone else letting them put a direct us in their path.
It's all about how we make our choices instead of blaming the person in
the late future when mental health and physical health is damaged.
D Unhealthy beliefs of the world.
We tend to believe that the world
owes us. We keep doing good deeds, put in more hard work, smile away to thy neighbor, and
expect success to fall in our lap.
This unhealthy beliefs and expectations lead
to disappointments. Thus confusion, depression, self-pity, and the party is now
overloaded.
These unhealthy beliefs have a
direct impact on our mental health. This built-in stress is outburst as migraine,
loss of appetite/weight gain, or a step further Heart disease, damaging our
physical health.
These simple moves can help.
B Stop asking why these things happen only to me.
B Stop resenting on some else’s success
B Stop the Pity Party and move on
